Meeting of like minds
A mountain stream I flow,
fresh alive, melting snow,
sparkling and bubbling I make my way,
splashing
Not discontent, but seeking,
eager, rushing, reaching,
Contained within my own boundaries
hurrying
Carving my own way through
no thought turned to you
I never imagined you were there
approaching
Felt your essence in air
saw tail of ivory mare
Cascading down your own mountain,
laughing
On your glittering waves
the sun sparkling plays
Our paths diverting, destined to meet
converging
Wait for cold exchange
waters new and strange
Then surprising delighted recognition
exhilarating
The leaves dead and dark
swirl up, revealed, stark
Mixed and tossing, turned over
discarding
Flotsam left in haste
swirling manic paced
Frantic, joyful whirlpool, rapids
dancing
We continue, waters calm
find rivers gentle psalm
Sharing, combined strength and passion
underlying
In time our way may part
diverse new branches start
Both renewed and strengthened, enriched
exchanging
The ocean ever calls us on
the way is hard, may be long
The time was right to dance together
supporting
